Understand My Bill
Your energy bill can tell you more than just how much you owe—it can help you take control of your energy use and lower your costs. By understanding the different sections and charges, you’ll be better equipped to make smart changes in your home or business that could lead to real savings.
To get started select the rate class you would like to explore
Time-Of-Use (TOU)
With Time-of-Use (TOU) pricing your bill breaks down electricity usage into three periods: On-Peak, Mid-Peak and Off-Peak, depending on the time of day and day of the week you consume it. If you look on page two of your bill and see “My Current Time-of-Use Schedule,” you are classified as a TOU customer.
Tiered
With Tiered prices, you can use a certain amount of electricity each month at a lower price. Once that threshold is exceeded, a higher price applies. If you look at page two of your bill and see “My Tiered Rate Structure,” you are classified as a Tiered customer.
Ultra-Low Overnight (ULO)
With Ultra-Low Overnight (ULO) pricing your bill breaks down electricity usage into four periods: On-Peak, Mid-Peak, Weekend Off-Peak and Ultra-Low Overnight. This plan is designed for customers who use more electricity at night, such as those who charge their electric vehicle. If you look at page two of your bill and see “My Current Ultra-Low Schedule,” you are classified as an ULO customer.
Retail Energy Contract
You may choose to buy electricity through a third-party electricity retailer. If you have signed a contract with an electricity provider, you’re a Retail Energy Contract Customer. If you look at page two of your bill and see a Retailer’s name listed, you are classified as a customer enrolled with a retailer.
