Residential Rates
Eligible residential and net metering customers on the Regulated Price Plan (RPP) can choose between three types of electricity rates. The Ontario Energy Board sets these rates once a year on November 1.
Electricity
Time-of-Use (TOU) Price Plan
Under Time-of-Use pricing, you pay a different rate for electricity depending on the time of day and day of the week you consume it. Learn more

Ultra-Low Overnight (ULO) Price Plan
With Ultra-low overnight pricing, you are charged according to the day of the week and time of day that you use electricity. Learn more

Monthly Rates and Charges
Delivery Component
Effective January 01, 2025
The delivery charge covers the costs of delivering electricity from generating stations across the province to your home or business through high voltage (transmission) and low voltage (distribution) power lines. It includes the costs to build and maintain transmission and distribution lines, towers and poles and to operate provincial and local electricity systems.
While your total bill is paid to Renfrew Hydro, only the distribution charges are kept by Renfrew Hydro. The distribution charges are included in the delivery line of your bill. Renfrew Hydro collects the remaining charges on behalf of other organizations without any mark-up to customers.

Note 1
The Delivery Line Loss Charge is calculated by multiplying the Electricity Charge Consumption by the loss factor and then multiplying this number by the current month’s Electricity Charge under the RPP rate.
Regulatory Component
Effective January 01, 2025
Regulatory charges are the costs of administering the wholesale electricity system and maintaining the reliability of the provincial grid. The Ontario Energy Board sets these rates.

Note 2
For customers who do not purchase their electricity from an electricity retailer, a monthly administration fee of $0.25 is added to the regulatory charge.
Ontario Electricity Rebate
The Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER) is a provincially funded rebate that applies as a credit on qualifying electricity bills and reduces the pre-HST costs on customers’ bills by 13.1%. Learn more
Other Charges (as applicable)
Other charges may include the Ontario Energy Rebate, account set up charges, interest, taxes and more may appear on your monthly bill from Renfrew Hydro.
