Each year, Renfrew Hydro applies to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) requesting changes to our distribution rates. Every five (5) years we submit a Cost of Service (COS) application – a comprehensive, in-depth regulatory filing to justify and set new base distribution rates.

These applications will undergo a thorough review process, which may include hearings, stakeholder consultations, and public participation. The OEB evaluates factors such as the distributor’s revenue requirements, capital and operating expenditures, and performance metrics to determine the appropriate rate adjustments.
